Bus Driving Again

I am back to the routine of bus driving again. I have the same route as last year, but a different bus. I have to get used to some of the differences in the controls. It was funny Tuesday as I picked up the kids, and watched their reactions. Most didn't say anything, but they seemed to be relaxed that I was back with them on their way to school. The funny part to me was on Wednesday, the first full day of school. The high school students recognized the route number and started coming towards the bus and then they suddenly noticed I was driving again and they too seemed comfortable again (I am pretty sure I saw an excited reaction from a couple of them).

At church we are having a number of different meetings this week to try and get things ready to be kicked off next week. Hopefully things will come together easily, in less than a week ...

Football report:
My finger doesn't hurt like it did last week. I type the occasional wrong letter because of the splint I am wearing. They call this injury a mallet finger. It certainly slowed me down at football. I played in the first quarter where I caught two passes (one of which was a touchdown). The touchdown pass hurt and since we were winning, I decided to sit for a while and see if it would stop hurting. By the fourth quarter we stopped scoring and they came back to tie the game at 20. I went back in and instantly drew good coverage (he remembered me). The second play our quarterback sent me to the opposite side of the field. The guy who covered me last play ran across the field to line and cover me, while the guy on the other side of the field didn't switch. I had two guys and the other wide receiver had no one. We got big yards out of that play. The next play the quarterback dropped a perfect pass just over the defenders hands and into mine in the endzone for a touchdown. 3 catches 2 touchdowns, not bad for 2 quarters of work.
